Conference Themes
- Particular constituents: including homeless youth, Aboriginal or ethno-culturally specific groups, children and families experiencing homelessness, seniors, people with addictions or mental health issues, people with physical disabilities or illness, immigrants and refugees, etc.
- Particular homeless sub-populations: including people living on the street; the hidden homeless; those at risk of homelessness, and people living in short-term or crisis shelters; particular challenges of homelessness in rural and remote communities and large urban centres.
- Particular responses to the issue: such as municipal strategies from across Canada; research across a broad spectrum of housing issues; policy responses municipally, provincially, and federally; personal responses to homelessness (artistic, visual arts representations); collaborative strategies, etc.
- Particular themes or sub-issues: such as related issues that impact homelessness, including domestic violence (women and children rendered homeless as a result of spousal abuse and domestic violence); “re-entry” issues (homelessness after exiting criminal justice or mental health systems); homelessness and the relationship to health/determinants of health, etc.
Note: abstracts should:
- Address one (or more) of the conference themes (see above);
- Be in one of the designated formats; and
- Address one of the conference focus areas.
