Submitting a Proposal
Proposals will be accepted by uploading them through an online form (coming soon). Check back, or contact us to be added to the conference mailing list. See Instructions and Notes.
Instructions
- Abstracts must represent original work or innovative approaches not previously published.
- Please put special or unusual abbreviations in parenthesis after the full word when it first appears in the text, and use standard abbreviations wherever possible.
- It is the presenter’s responsibility to make sure that the text is free of spelling and punctuation errors.
- Paper/lecture, poster and video proposals will be limited to 250 words.
- Panel presentations and workshop presentation proposals will be limited to 450 words.
- The abstract must indicate the targeted audience (those most likely to be interested in the presentation: direct service providers, supervisors and administrators, directors, government policy and decision makers).
- Submissions may be made in English and/or French. The language for presentations will be English and/or French.
- An individual may submit more than one abstract. A separate official submission form is required for each abstract.
- There is no fee to submit abstract(s).
- Edits to submitted abstracts may be made up to December 1, 2008. Instructions for making edits can be found on the abstract submission form.
Notes
- Growing Home will be able to accommodate only a limited number of oral presentations and encourage submissions for posters. Please indicate on the submission form whether you are interested in being considered for an oral and/or poster presentation.
- Submitting an abstract does not register you to attend the conference. You must complete the separate online delegate registration form before you will be admitted to the conference. Full registration for the conference will open at the end of September 2008.
- You must stand by your poster(s) at designated times during the conference to answer questions. In the case of multiple authors, at least one author is required to stand by the poster at the specified times.
- The conference is unable to cover expenses of the presenters. You must cover your own expenses, such as developing the poster, shipping, travel, or accommodation.
- The maximum size for posters is 115 cm x 115 cm (approximately 45 inches x 45 inches) in size, but may be any smaller dimension. Oversize posters may not be displayed as you will be allocated one-half of a poster board and will not be permitted to occupy neighbouring space. Please bring a rack for handouts since tables will not be provided.
